Privacy Policy, The Dreamer's Journey

The Dreamer's Journey ("the app") is provided by Banner.co LLC ("we", "us"), 5000 Thayer Center, Ste C, Oakland, MD 21550. This policy explains what the app collects, who it is shared with, and how long it is kept.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address, and a password. Your password is held by Amazon Cognito, our sign-in provider, and we never see or store it in readable form. Your email address is used to verify your account and to send sign-in and password-reset codes.

Your recordings. When you record a dream, the audio is uploaded to our storage.

Your journal. For each recording we store: the text transcription, the themes and reflection prompts drawn from it, the Scripture passages selected for it, and the dates the recording was made and processed.

Technical records. A daily count of how many entries you have created, used only to limit running costs. These counts delete themselves automatically.

On your device. Your sign-in session is stored in your device's secure storage - the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore. It does not leave your device.

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking services. The app contains no third-party tracking of any kind, and we do not build a profile of you or sell, rent, or share your information for marketing.

Who processes your information

To turn a recording into a journal entry, the app shares it with two other companies. They process it on our behalf, under contract, and only to provide this service:

    •    OpenAI receives your voice recording and turns it into text.

    •    Anthropic receives that text and reads it to find its themes and choose Scripture. It does not receive your recording.

Neither company receives your email address or your password.

Neither OpenAI nor Anthropic is permitted to use your content to train their models under the terms we use their services on.

Storage and computing are provided by Amazon Web Services in the United States. Amazon also sends the app's sign-in and password-reset emails.

How long we keep it

Voice recordings are deleted after a year because, once transcribed, the recording's only remaining purpose is to correct a faulty transcription.

Journal entries are kept indefinitely by design: the app exists so you can look back over what you dreamt, and an entry that expired would defeat that. If you would rather it did not work that way, you can delete your account at any time, and all of your entries are deleted with it.

How it is protected

Recordings and journal entries are encrypted while stored. Everything sent between the app and our systems is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted to the people who operate the service.

Diagnostic logs. When something goes wrong, our systems keep a technical record so we can fix it. These records can include your account ID, but not your recordings or journal. They are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Your choices

Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: tap Account at the bottom of the recording screen, then Delete my account. This permanently deletes your account, your recordings, transcripts and notes, and the Scripture the app offered you. It is removed from our systems straight away. Copies may remain in our automatic backups for up to 35 days before they are overwritten, and our artificial intelligence providers may keep information they processed for up to 30 days. If you can't sign in, email tdj@bannerco.online from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.

Your other choices. You can correct a transcript in the app ("Fix what was misheard") and edit your notes at any time. To ask for a copy of your information, or to correct anything else, email tdj@bannerco.online.

Children. The app is not intended for children under 14, unless they are supervised by an adult, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes. If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
